    Thanks for the input guys.

    > If you are single and adventurous the Swiss option is definitely a good bet

    I'm engaged and adventurous

    > you will be paying Swiss tax/NI which is not low

Actually the net take home on an example payslip worked out as 80% of gross, although there is the high cost of living to balance that out.

    > So much closer to the Alps too (for next season)

I never told them but that was a massive plus point. Renewal would be due in November and the idea of sacking it in then and taking my board back to the UK seemed unlikely!

    > You my friend have some cracking skills/experience and interview technique.

Nah, just lucky. I waited two weeks before they all came along at once. The pimps haven't needed much nudging on bumping the rate though, once they know there are other offers in the running and I'm undecided, they do it for me (I'm a pretty feeble mercenary in truth).

If you like your family and want to spend time with them, choose 1.

If you're not that fussed then 3 or 4.

I'd take 1 any time, as it's been a long time since I worked near home.

I'd do 1. Never worked away from home - never will. Saying that, I;ve never had to so that could change if the sh!t hit the fan.

I'm in seventh heaven at the minute. Coming up to 9 months at a gig within walking distance of home! It's amazing listening to the permies moan about the traffic they've had to endure to get to work in the morning. I never get tired of it!

Just stating my info. I've been quoted net retention of only 65%, and that was from more than one source. And then I would have needed to expense all expenses (weekly flights, hotels et al) from residual income. It was a high rate, but could do better here, without the hassle.

                  You know it makes sense.

With the new non dom £30k tax and the new CGT rules...the Financial capital of the world WILL now be moving from London ...my bet is Switzerland.

                  Take the family!
