I asked on my most recent email for my agency contact's managers details. The response. El blanko.

So route two. Went onto the agencies website in an effort to get another contact and find someone senior. The Contact Us button does El Zilcho!

    .
Go onto the Companies House website find out who the Directors are and contact them that way if you want to go to the top

If you are really stuck then talk to your accountant, or the CAB and get some advice on how to proceed in a more formal way

      Worked for me once.

When perm looking for another perm job, an agent tried to talk me into a job I did not really want so this would make the job he was talking me out of available for somebody else he was placing.

When I declined the job he wanted me to take and accepted the other job with another agent, this agent was seriously annoyed at losing two placements, and sent a really foul and abusive email - saying he would make my name mud and all of that.

I emailed the MD having got his name and email from the head office.

Two days later I got a grovelling email and phone call from the hacked off agent apologising most profusely, with a grovelling call from the MD for good measure.

      Made me smile!

They have a contract with Langkawi ltd, not Mr Langkawi. I assume the Langkawi Ltd doesn't have an NI number. How can they be paying Langkawi Ltd through PAYE. Or, how can they be paying Mr Langkawi if they've no contract with him? And how are you accounting for VAT? Anyway, IANAL, IANAA, but it seems that all the problems are with the agency. You've issued you them with legal valid invoices, that they are bound to pay.

Write to the agent. Explain very politely the problems, and how you expect them to resolve them. Explain you are, in accordance with the late payments legislation, charging interest on all money that has been invoiced and not payed. Explain that if you've not had some positive action within one week, you'll escalate the issue to the directors of the agency. Make it clear that you'll work with them, but it is up to them to sort out the problems.

One week later, having gotten the agency directors' names and addresses from companies house, write to them, asking them to intervene. Enclose a copy of the letter you sent to your agent. Explain that you've asked the agent to sort things out, but there's been no movement on his part. Explain that if you've not had some positive action on their part within one week, that you'll have no alternative but to start legal proceedings.

One week later. Start the suing process. And don't forget to add the interest. Try not to be emotionally involved - treat this as a purely business matter.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!
