Regardless if the client was the original to blame or not though, I don't want to be the one that gets screwed over in the end, when it was a mistake made by the agency, since they didn't do their contract properly with the client. But my contract with the agency shouldn't have anything to do with their contract with the client.

    1. Send agent invoice.
    2. If they don't pay send chaser and warn that no payment may mean debt collection agency will be involved
    3. Goto http://www.pbcollection.co.uk/debt_recovery.htm and get on with your life.

Yea I just did, and I got confirmation for my timesheet from the client I was working for, so Greythorn can bill them for that, but now I need my 2 weeks notice from Greythorn.

In regards to the 2 weeks notice, I sent them an email outlining the fact the contract is between myself and Greythorn and quoted a few parts. I was rather blunt and told them that I would take this to court if I had to.

Still waiting on a response from them, but I think they got the message that I'm not willing to play games.

        Well done.

The agency takes a margin to cover their risk of this sort of thing happening.

But don't forget you can ask for - and they are entitled to offer - alternative work during that notice period to mitigate the loss.

See if they can find you another contract starting Wednesday. (After all, you said your highest priority right now is paying the bills, yes?)

You may find that there is something in the contract that says that they only pay you once they have received payment from the client.

If you did not opt out prior to being introduced to the client, then the agency must pay you for the work that you have done, regardless of whether they get the money from the client or not.

E-mailing the client won't help you other than maybe to annoy them. You should take this up with Greythorne. They won't do anything, apart from perhaps blacklisting you.

Wrong. That's 'bum on seat' speak.

'I'm closed for business for the duration of ......' is what you should tell the client.

Was there mutuality of obligation? Without it, I fail to see how they can be obliged to pay you notice. In any case, you must seek to mitigate that "loss" by seeking other work anywhere - not just with Greythorn.

                    This bit sounds alarm bells:
...sneaky with the contract and apparently he didn't sign in December
did you definitely have a contract over that period? if so, what needed signing? Was it actually "terminated" or just not renewed? If the latter, nobody did anything wrong except you took your eye off the ball. If the former, then by all means try some of the other folk's suggestions.

Dont waste time with Greythorn just send the agent your invoice with the agreed terms for payment, if you dont recieve payment within the agreed terms then just go onto the link below and deal with agent through the small claims court, it worked for me.
