Don't go with an umberella, find an accountant and start a Ltd company.

Nixon Williams & Upton Accountants will do the company formation for you, I think SJD do as well.
    Still Invoicing

I highly rate Mimax as a good umbrella (who don't need to slate the competition in forums!)

      Really freindly and professional.

An easy way into contracting if you are not sure if this will be long term.

If sure this will be your chosen path for several months / years, then speak to NW and save yourself the headache of setting up your own ltd like I have just done this weekend!

Get thinking of a company name and use the 'Fast Co Formation' link on the right to help you choose a name not already taken.

I would not use Giant based on my experience when they were my accountants (known as IAS) when I operated a ltd co back in 1994/5. Not responsive enough.

I would certainly not use an umbrella company in any case. When I first went contracting, umbrella companies were not particularly an option - everyone I'd ever met or heard of used ltd when going contracting. Somehow, we survived! Even without the internet!

Don't do an umbrella company. Go with a LTD co.

1st Option Consulting are highly recommended although a little pricey. Well worth it though as they will do EVERYTHING for you.

If you want to get going quickly with a ltd company get Nixon Williams on the case and go see HSBC for a bank account. You should be up and running by the end of the week.

            It's well worth the effort.

Join PCG OneStop, you will find that it includes setting up a limited company as well as PCG Membership

              see http://www.pcg.org.uk/cms/index.php?...320&Itemid=648

I am not a great fan of umbrellas unless you have no desire to run your own company - it is not cost effective, when compared with your own company. However the PCG does also have an umbrella option.

                  Hi,

I started my own Ltd company. Can you let me know what are all the documents needed to start a bank account with HSBC for my company and how long it will take?

Also what are the advantages of HSBC over other banks?

                  Waiting for your response.

                  thanks,
                  Sshanmug
