All my other interviews have been personic.
Personic? Doesn't that belong in the buzzword bingo thread?

There aren't any norms in contracting. That's part of the point of it. Plough your own furrow.

Well I didn't think so. Bit of a strange mouth and of course there's all that funny coloured fur but still .....

Maybe I'll get myself one of those burkha thingys too.

Thinking about it, my successful phone interviews for the last three jobs were all really short - around ten minutes - and I wondered if I'd said something wrong and they'd decided to cut it short... but as others have said, it seems they were just confirming I knew what they were on about and could do the work.

On the other hand, I've had a couple of very long phone interviews - 30 minutes or more - which I thought were very positive and ended in a friendly and chatty way, and I didn't get the job.

Lesson seems to be: don't talk for ages if you can possibly avoid it. You'll probably say one little thing which they really don't like, completely cancelling out all the good stuff.
