Thinking about it, my successful phone interviews for the last three jobs were all really short - around ten minutes - and I wondered if I'd said something wrong and they'd decided to cut it short... but as others have said, it seems they were just confirming I knew what they were on about and could do the work.
On the other hand, I've had a couple of very long phone interviews - 30 minutes or more - which I thought were very positive and ended in a friendly and chatty way, and I didn't get the job.
Lesson seems to be: don't talk for ages if you can possibly avoid it. You'll probably say one little thing which they really don't like, completely cancelling out all the good stuff.Comment
