Do it yourself.. don't need to bother with Dreamweaver and the likes either...

Just hand craft it in notepad (or vi if you are really hardcore )

Depends of course on what services you offer but if it's just boggo software consultancy or project management type thing you don't need flash graphics etc...

Yep - if necessary, get a load of templates off eBay or somesuch site.

i'm also thinking of getting website set up for LTD co. Any of you guys got some examples of what you can produce and a range of prices. obviously it would only be a range and until you sat through my reqs it would be definite but it would give me / us an idea.

I did do my mates website the once but just can't be bothered doing my own as i treasure my spare time and everything else is busy working time for me.
Thats the way the cookie crumbles

It's not the website design/build that takes the time - it's writing the content.

Cooper, if you want us to take a look, send me a PM, I'm sure we could come to some arrangement where you pay a little less than you are prepared to and a little more than we are prepared to do the work for .

I use www.1and1.co.uk to host my domain name forward to my free space from my ISP.

If you really don't want to design your own - then I would be happy to it for you - for a reasonable rate of course.

                  Have you tried
                  www.elance.com
                  ?

You can even get someone to write your content with a more professional touch

I just want a simple website, nothing flash, to advertise my Ltd Co. I was quoted £1500 by a company whose name I forget just to set it up, but I thought that was a bit steep.

                  Cheers
