    Contract Review or Status Assessment

    Hi all,

I'm considering getting my contract looked at for IR35 friendliness. I noticed QDOS do two options:

    1) Status assessment - as part of their QDOS freelance club - 40 squid + VAT

    2) Contract Review - 85 + VAT.

Quite frankly I'm wondering why I should pay the extra for the more detailed report? At the end of the day I want somebody to say yes it's fine not wax lyrical about what could be better or not. I'm confident I'm outside but simply want the peace of mind (should HMRC come knocking) that I got it checked out early doors.

Do you want it checked just for IR35, or checked for its commercial validity? Not much point in being outside IR35 if the contract requires you to work 24 hour days on demand for free, to pick a random example.

That's the difference betwen the two services. With an average contract worth around £20k gross, is £45 really that important?

you ideally need to ensure that the your working practices reflect the IR35
      friendly contract as well.

      http://www.qdosconsulting.com/qdosma...e=k83zvxl266zm

The "Freelancer Tax Protection" for £99 will cover you for 50k tax protection
(IR35 S660) and entitles you to 3 status review contracts per year.

You don't really need the detailed review, as long as contract passes the
status review and your working practices reflect the situation, then they
      can defend it against IR35.
