As the agencies use it as a filter, it begs the question if anyone has ever been asked to show their MCSE certificate, either to the agent or client?Originally posted by crimdonSeems to be only small consultancy companies that set any worth in a MCSE type qualification these days. Also agents seem to use them to filter the number of applicants.Comment

I did get asked recently in an interview why I did not have any current Microsoft qualifications

When I was contracting I also never bothered to do the exams. This wasn't a problem as the agencies\clients didn't insist on it then. Funnily enough those with the certs didn't seem that good which I thought explained why agencies weren't that bothered and candidates were weeded out at the interview whether they had the cert or not. It seems strange now to insist on it when the value of it has been diluted even further.Originally posted by spoonsI did get asked recently in an interview why I did not have any current Microsoft qualifications
However, as I'm trying to get my IT career restarted it seems that I'll have to do them just to get past the filter.

If I were hiring, I would not accept anyone without a fistful of current Microsoft certs.
After all, I would only want the best.

I have. The MCP site lets you setup a public viewable transcript which is handy for things like that.Originally posted by gablesAs the agencies use it as a filter, it begs the question if anyone has ever been asked to show their MCSE certificate, either to the agent or client?Comment
