I suppose a good way to get round word search type filters would be to put something like "working towards MCSE". That works on Ebay where sellers tend to put not in fron tof the brand name.
This is a good idea and technically true.

Surprised, since the OCP wasn't relevant to the role at all, but if you opt into the agency regulations then they should be checking this kind of thing to make sure you are who you say you are.
I agree they should check especially if they're insisting on it for a role, it just seems daft if they don't.

    Certs.

I will be going for the Oracle Certified Master next year. Now there's a real test of ability, and will require genuine understanding of Oracle.

The Oracle Certified Professional cert: As meaningless as MS certs.

The braindump sites killed the meaningfulness of non-practical exams more than 10 years ago.

    Er...

Strictly speaking accounts do not need to be filed yet because it is only two months since the end of the first financial year.

The annual return is a little overdue though.

I have. The MCP site lets you setup a public viewable transcript which is handy for things like that.

If I were hiring, I would not accept anyone without a fistful of current Microsoft certs.

After all, I would only want the best.

When I was contracting I also never bothered to do the exams. This wasn't a problem as the agencies\clients didn't insist on it then. Funnily enough those with the certs didn't seem that good which I thought explained why agencies weren't that bothered and candidates were weeded out at the interview whether they had the cert or not. It seems strange now to insist on it when the value of it has been diluted even further.

However, as I'm trying to get my IT career restarted it seems that I'll have to do them just to get past the filter.

    Ho hum.
