    JBA Recruiting

Hi Chaps, any of you dealt with these before? they're wanting to send my CV for an app, but want referees up front (name, company, no phone though!).

i'm not overly comfortable with as we all know why, i dont want the referees being pestered.

Is this normal practice for BT, wanting referees up front? he is saying that they are bouncing apps without these details...
I didn't say it was your ******* fault, I said I was blaming you!

It's normal practice for agents to ask for them. I've worked with BT and as far as I know they don't ask for references up front. Most Co's don't in fact. Stick to your guns and tell them you are happy to supply references to the client should you be offered the role.

          cheers all!

have told him that my referees and me are not happy, but will give once i'm offered!

also told him that i have more than what they are after, so send my CV, if they dont want to know due to no refs then thats their loss!

all seems a little fishy due to approach this am, then the quick call back saying "i've spoken to BT, they want names or wont accept!"

does anyone know the BT contract section so i can speak to them direct regards the agency and the so-called requirement?

Worked at BT Global Services (at BT Tower) through Robert Walters Technology...on a long rolling contract.

No references were required at the outset, however, BT Global Services now use ELAN IT as sole managing agent (never used to) , so if the job is with BT Global, then JBA will be going through ELAN IT.

However, if job is with BT Wholesale or BT Retail, they might have different requirements.

If you have nothing to hide ...whats the problem? Just give them your references and go for that interview.!!!

                  Scooby

One of our chaps are with BT in Leeds and the agency (Abraxas) didn't ask for refernces up front. You could always contact another agency and get them to put you forward.
"Hope your doing fine". My favourite opening line in emails from certain agencies! Not only the fact they can't spell, but who actually says that?

because, as it has been said, I want to protect my referees from being spammed or hassled by agencies trying to muscle in.

I respect the people i use and i want to continue using them.
