    Link Exchange

As you may or may not have noticed I finally got my Co. webtulipe up and running and stuck it in my sig here. In a desperate, and probably fruitless, attempt to improve it's currently non-existent ranking on Google I'm trying to get some link exchanges going.

So, if any of you with business websites want to exchange links, I'll stick them on the resources page under appropriate headings, pm me with your details and one or two lines of blurb to go with them.

I heard that Google got wise to link exchanges a long time ago. It might do your site more harm than good.

This one came in at £300 including licensing the images etc. I'm have absolutely no clue about web design these days. The last time I tried it was in plain vanilla html about 10 years ago. If you pm me I'll give you the addy of the guy who did it for me. He's very good and very helpful.

From what I've been able to find out it Link Farms that they have got wise to. Large groups of self referencing sites that all link to each other. Not planning anything like that, just trying to increase the number of unique links to my site which is one way to raise it's profile.

Looks good on the surface, but have you looked at the code? Arrrrggghhh!!!! All tables for layout with spacer graphics and images used for navigation. Good luck viewing it on anything with a horizontal resolution less than 829 pixels (ie, anything other than a PC). Never mind the fact that there is no alt-text on any of the images making it impossible to navigate by a blind person - which I believe is actually illegal now for commercial sites.

I think it was done in Dreamweaver (take a look at the Javascript functions). And I believe, but may be wrong, that Dreamweaver still uses tables for positioning.
