    Well it paid off to ignore the dodgy agencies as after waiting a week the phone rang constantly so there must be at least one job out there.....probably 15 agencies with the same job though...but at least the phone is ringing

    I change my voicemail to say "Off the market" saves on repeating myself, saves on agents asking me to go permanent

      I have posted this already, but it is worth repeating.
      It is my opinion and as such has no legal merit.
      I am not qualified to give this advice.

      The agent is just fishing for leads.

      When the agent tells you that they are required by law to verify your employment history, qualifications and references they are bending the law a bit.

      The regulations state that the agent must ascertain if you are legit. It does not say they have to have sight of your paperwork or that thye have to contact your refs.
      A letter from the managing director of your company waranting that you are who you say and that you have what you claim is enough.
      You may have to argue the point.
      I am not qualified to give the above advice!
