3 months ago, I was due to start a contract but the client cancelled without telling anyone. I'd already signed my contract with the agency but the client didn't sign theirs claiming they never recieved it in the post. So I turns up on the day to find out I've no contract. So I invoiced the agency for one day's lost work. 3 months later, they're saying the client isn't paying up so they're not paying me. Can this be right?

Basically the EB regs mean the agency has to check your references and pay you if the client doesn't pay, pay you on time etc.
You possibly could get the days pay through litigation but for a days pay is it really worth it. Just write it off as bad debt and let the accountant use that for any tax saving he can.Last edited by Sockpuppet; 11 December 2013, 20:39.Comment
