Maybe bestroute's advice was a bit OTT but may have some pointers and your fedupness could be sneaking out at interviews !? I'm usually pretty laidback when it comes to job hunting but when times are tough I've tailored all my CVs, ironed my shirts properly, etc etc and been the keenest of keen interviewees. You've got to play the game ! -
OK.

It was a stepping stone, dear - not the final destination.

Tell them you went travelling, did some training, etc etc You can come up with something that's not all negative. Little white lies are allowed if times are tough.Originally posted by unemployedwell a couple of months out of work is far less than a year how do i cover that upComment

Most of all try to take on board the feedback you are getting here and from the interview. Read between the lines, they said you didn't seem keen and didn't sell yourself. Its the same vibes you are giving off here.
All that is necessary for evil members to succeed is that good members post nothing

Unemployed - I have been reading this forum for over a year now and been posting for the last few months and I can honestly say that this stands out as one of the most helpful posts I can remember seeing.
This post contains some very good advice which I wish I had when I was on the bench towards the end of 2005.
I can completely sympathise with your situation but think you are being a bit too defensive.
At the end of the day, if you are going to dismiss the advice on here off hand then why bother posting/visiting in the first place.Comment

Well said.Originally posted by DennyHis esteem is taking a battering. That's why he's grouchy on here, Clippy.
You and others berating him for his attitude on here is not really that helpful really. I know you mean well, but I'm sure he's OK when his spirits are up and life is being good to him. Isn't that the same for all of us? I know I can be downright grouchy too when things don't go my way.
My attitude toward 'Unemployed' it to overlook the curtness and take it for what it is - a reflection of how he's feeling, not a true reflection of his character or personality, up or down.Comment
