    What do I do....

I've verbally accepted an offer of a contract but the agency has yet to send out the copy for signing.

I accepted two weeks ago today and I've badgered the agent a couple of times and got vague responses, i.e. "Oh, the client is being assessed for risk and ability to pay".. The client just happens to be a top tier investment bank !!

I've reposted my details back on job serve and have had quite a few calls.

Should I bother to phone back the original agent whom I'm quite prepared to name, if neccessary.

I believe that the agent should be contacting me and managing my expectations rather than me having to chase them...

I throw myself at the feet of your collective wisdom and you Jawz

Keep going. You should keep going down two routes (a) keep looking for contracts and getting interviews and (b) keep on your EB's back until he either admits the client has changed their mind or sorts you out a contract and start date. Once a day is usually enough. Don't get angry with them, just ask them for an update since you are still available on the market until you have a signed contract. It's quite possible that there are delays with the client's procurement process that are nothing to do with the EB.

    In my opinion.
It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. www.areyoupopular.mobi

Why not just call the guy/girl who interviewed you for the client? Get it from the horses mouth, as it were. Agents are full of sh1te and should not be trusted.

If you had the job the agency would be on the phone to you within nano seconds. I'm guessing you've not got the contract but the agent is trying to convince the client to take on a second contractor, or he got some noise back from somewhere about their first choice being only a maybe due to other offers.

As someone wisely said on here a few months back, never stop looking for a new contract until you're actually sat in the clients office, working with a signed contract in your filing system.

I finally managed to track down the agent and he categorically assures me that all is well.

I feckin hate interviews... It's not that I'm no good at them, it's just they get on my nerves, having to speak to someone who obviously knows a hell of a lot less than me tell me my job........

I've not spent 22 years in the industry with my head up my @rse.....
