    Another agency Scam?

    Got this e-mail today:-

    Hi Michael,

Evolution Recruitment Solutions are in the fortunate position of gaining a lot of business through recommendation, due to our reputation for delivering a professional and honest service, to both candidates and clients.

To show our appreciation for these recommendations, we have introduced a referral scheme which rewards you for taking the time to recommend our services and allows you to considerably increase your income during a year.

We will pay you £200 for each placement Evolution makes from the information you provide. Please click on one of the links below to earn your reward:

To recommend a recruiting manager - do you know anyone recruiting at the moment or in the future?

I would like to keep the managers sweet I use for references, so I dont think so....

But do you think they will pay up if I give them Mr T Blair 10 downing st. I am sure he will be recruiting some time in the future.

    Probably...

I received the same email. It certainly smells like a scam so I promptly binned it.

Well a lot of agencies offer you £100+ rewards if you recommend a friend/colleague & they get recruited, isn't this the same deal? If so it's not a scam.

Usually an offer to reward for a referral is attached to a job spec. If you can't do it yourself then refer someone that can & claim a pittance in return.

In this particular case it just looks like a simple (stupid) trawl for leads & CVs.

Right it really is very simple, there are not alot of good canddiates out there at the moment so people are offering financial incentives to reccomend your friends to them if you cant do the contract offered. You can either think 'yes ill help a friend out and put this contract his way and make myself a few hundred quid' or you can think 'no im not going help out anyone i know and im not interested in money'.

It's not relevent if you have millions in the bank as some of you like to claim, money is money and it's helping a fellow contractor. Thats all it is. No ones trying to scam leads out of you.
