    Worth remembering also that if you've been a bit slack on the pension recently you can make up for last 3 years (I think?) so you could drop 80k pa into it for 3 years.

      Unless something has recently changed I believe its £40k a year.

        Yes, but you can backdate missing contributions for the last 3 years - so if you haven't maximised those, you can make up for it. Obvs £80k contrib unlikely unless you didn't add anything at all in prior years (and I think you do need to have been working that time to be able to make up contributions during it).
