    Best rates and switching areas of expertise

    I was wondering about where the top rates are. I'm currently doing a full stack JS dev (react, typescript, serverless, that sort of stuff) contract at £500/day outside and I have friends that recently found £550. Best inside rate I saw was Sky at £700. It's surprisingly/frustratingly hard to work out what the going rate is for other skills, since when I'm looking at job ads, what is actually real takes a bit of prodding to see what comes through. My rough guess is that Java/C# are the same or less, but C++ a bit more? Maybe go and rust as well because they're trendy.

    What rates do Java, C#, C++, go, rust and cloud architect/devops pay? What rates are banks paying?

    There's one here for bank/C++ but it's £550-650 inside

    Python, 650-700 inside

    However this one is up to £800 outside for salesforce!

    How easy is it to switch from one skillset to another? I feel I could learn whatever other language to the standard I know JS, but proving it to a client is another matter without the relevant professional history.

    Switching to Salesforce - would probably take between 3-5 years....
