    GE Aviation/Experis

    Hi

Anyone (assume a lot!) here working/worked for GE Aviation via Experis ?
    Thoughts, Bad Experiences,....?

Typically contracts are for 6 months. After 18 months you have to leave the site for I think 6 months before you can go back again. There used to be a limit on how many times you could do this. It might have been 2/3 times. I'd have a look at glassdoor because it can be a bit of a mixed bag depending on which section you end up in and contracts getting cut short.

Don’t know about GE. But Experis onboarding can be a bit of a nightmare.

They have drone office workers who tick box the whole process. They can’t handle anything which isn’t in their script. Therefore get the process underway as early as you can.

They do pay on time though.

Been there twice, can't recommend it. First time was ok but the contract was cut short as they stopped all work on Boeing projects due to customer nonpayment, they let all contractors go. Was on a good team with a great bunch of guys doing an R&T project.

Second time was about 3 years ago and was a nightmare. The amount of paperwork Experis wanted was ridiculous. They didn't like the fact that my Ltd Co is set up with the wife as a director, so they wanted me to lie on their paperwork to say that it was just me. Not sure why, but I refused to do it. At induction you are essentially permified. They want copies of all your education certs to keep on record (???), give you a presentation on what to expect as an "employee" etc etc. What pissed me off the most was that I joined them to do a hardware qual program, but when I started they decided to put me on SW verification, which I have no pedigree in. I didn't stay long, was very uncomfortable and felt like I had "disguised employee" stamped on my head.

I know a few guys who've been through there. some like it, some don't. I'd have to be pretty hard pressed for work to consider going back there.

BTW, they have already declared that all their contractors will be inside IR35 in April.

From your account, all their contractors actually Are Inside. Notwithstanding any contractors' efforts to remain Out...

Grief, what a story. Sounds horrendous.
