If it's one of the agencies I used to work with a few years ago... they probably can't find the guy to fix the MS Exchange box again. There was nothing they could do, all emails sat in the mail queue for a week :-)

Given OP's situation, where it sounds like the contract wasn't ideal initially but having now "proven" themselves the agent/client are more willing to negotiate over some changes, then renewal time is indeed the best time to get that sorted.Comment
