    Working remotely

    Hi,

I'm moving to Japan in a couple of days and have no IT opportunities lined up other than English teaching. I have a working visa for any job or role (18 years IT experience) and wanted to know how easy it is (or how to?) to obtain a contract that is remotely working only. I'm not based in Tokyo so the jobs are limited with a lot of competition for non Japanese speaking roles.

Apologies if this is daft question, but I want to keep up my IT work somehow. I've got the knowledge and the experience in my fields.

    Thanks, Matt.

Your best bet is probably to tap your network for opportunities.

I did some work with these guys a few years ago.
IT Consulting in Japan | Webnet IT
They're a Tokyo based IT company where all the staff speak English. Run by an English chap who's name escapes me.
      Worth a shout I reckon.
