Attending face to face interviews

Must admit I'm not keen as a first off. If they do a phone interview first and then want to see me then fine but sometimes I find it can be a waste of everyones time.

Of course, if you're on the bench not a problem but if you're in contract, it can mean a bit of hassle/lost billing maybe.

Got one now. Given me 2 interview slots to choose from - both 9am this week. Asked if they could do late afternoon, or even 830am. Nope. 9am couldn't be worse time - completely opposite direction to client so I'll be lucky to get to client by midday.

BUT, seems decent contract, close to home etc. Just wish clients would realise the score sometimes.

Is there a bus that can get you there for 9 am? If you're late, they can sanction your benefits again.

I guess it depends whether you are a contractor or not.
You want the contract, go for the interview, advise the current client that you won't be in until lunch, lose 1/2 a day of invoicing.
If you don't want the contract, don't go for the interview
If you can't afford to lose 1/2 a day of invoicing, build up your war chest

I might be missing something here, but if you want a gig then it is perfectly acceptable to have to interview for it, and if that means taking time out of whatever one is currently doing, then c'est la vie?
To my mind, sounds like the Client has at least offered up two different slots, and I guess it is whether the new potential gig is worth half-a-day-invoicing or not.......#longgame #speculatetoaccumulate #whyallthehashtags
