2. How will banks use AI to write code to process payments?

3. Will the government use AI to build counter terrisiom, security software also?

You are clearly unfamiliar with the quality of code that *I* write.

In other news - someone who knows the recruitment market is saying that Contract work is doing way better than permanent recruitment

I am due to start a contract on Monday (assuming they are ever happy with references I am offering) and only had a few weeks out this time round but you just need to remind yourself that for all the times it doesn't work for you, you only need get it right once.

Long term I think the jury is out as to if contracting is in terminal decline or the current woes are related to the economy. Or more likely a bit of both.

From my experience in a large range of sectors, there's a big difference between the best project managers and the also rans. Can anyone be a project manager? Possibly. But not a really good one managing difficult projects, at least in non-software dev projects.

I have never worked with a single Project manager in my 16 years career where they knew what they were doing. I have always felt that I know more than them even though I am not a Project manager by rank or title!

We are just sitting on the fence and waiting while we plunder our warchest. Us contractors will remain contractors till we retire. Perm employment has three stages of interviews!

Good PMs are as rare as hens teeth. When you do get a good one they really stick in the memory.

^^ Truth. There aren't many that I'd recommend, but the last one was one such hen's tooth. Would recommend all day long.
