1. Ensure you have a lot of exposure to recruiters on LI. Also ensure your headline tag is up to date (ie, currently seeking contract opportunities)
2. Put up a post on LI, something along the lines of:
"Hi all, I am currently assisting a former colleague of mine who is looking to recruit 7-8 contract (insert name of fictional role) in (insert city) for a business which has recently shifted headquarters from (previous fictional city). He/she is looking to partner with a recruitment agency with agents who have preferably held roles in IT in the past who can understand the lingo.
If you know of any agents who fit the bill, please do not hesitate to get in touch via DM."
3. Wait for your inbox to be flooded with messages from about half the IT recruiter population in your city, who will purport to work in IT (recruiting). This is also a good opportunity to see if the recruiter has any roles in their pipe (refer point 1 above).Comment

From a contracting point of view, I had an interview with a recruiter for a Head of IT role and whilst there he had another similar role which we're going to discuss. .Net Developer - 3 month contract - Warrington - £250 to £300 C# ASP.NET MVC SQL Server
A .NET developer is required for a contract in Warrington, easily commutable from Manchester, Liverpool or Chester.
You'll be developing drop down boxes which upon completion will automatically populate to a SQL server database you'll be joining a core team who are already working on the project,

• Assisting the infrastructure team when doing site surveys for WiFi.
