Re: the 'golden age' of contracting - 98' until April 2000. Lots of jobs, clear means of setting up and getting paid, great rates of pay. Agents were still generally rubbish but at least we got free beers and a meal once a quarter.

I've been contracting since the late 80's...

..The music was much better back then.

Rubbish. Late 80s was rubbish. Early 90s was the best.

At the moment it is getting embarrassing with offers. 2 weeks ago I agreed to join Bank A. I turned down bank B. Bank A still getting paperwork sorted. Bank B are now trying to get me in.

In the meantime, Bank C, who terminated me 2 weeks ago, want me back.

I wonder how high the winner will go?

Not if you went to the right, or completely wrong depending on your POV, parties.

Had a great time back then, got quite involved in putting on "events".
We had some very big names come and DJ for free at them too.

Facts based on what may I ask ? My second and third contracts were found no problem at all. People say all this but I am not convinced this is the case at all.

Facts based on the continual posting over years of people on here trying to find their second and third contract.

The thing is that it may not be a problem but if it is, surely it's better for us to prepare people for the possibility rather than stating everything is fine.
