    Very comprehensive. Thanks Mordac.

I must have anticipated something like this when I wrote the front end since I created the rather redundant 'Standard' hardcoded filter.

Good feature request, Ill get onto it right away in advance of the next version update.

I can modify 'Standard' to become 'iProfile' and add the list. This means it should be operational by . . . lets say Monday.

(most of them have made it into 'MyFilter' (not hardcoded) due to my having negative experience with their agents in the past)

    cheers!

The emails are a minor irritation. What I have a problem with is the system itself. I've never met anyone yet who has a good word to say about it, and we are talking about dozens and dozens of contractors here.

The problem that I had with Iprofile is that it contains my only my most generic skills (c programming and RTOS) and none of the specifics (IIRC not even ARM processor was there).

One is allowed to add these skills and the agents expect you to do this.

But what is the ****ing point. If the skills aren't already in this list, then the agents can't be sourcing jobs requiring those skills or they would have already added them.

There's no point me adding the skills, they have to do it, but they are too damned lazy to do so.

I did have an Iprofile but it got completely wiped - after I'd spent time correcting inaccuracies in it...

I dread those 'We are IProfile compatible' emails that I get every couple of weeks. My CV is a 'contractors CV' - i.e. all my skills are listed together with how many years experience on the first page. The number of conversations I have had with with agents that consist of

'How many years experience of C# do you have?"

"As it says on the front page of my CV, 4."

'How many years experience of ASP.Net do you have?"

"As it says on the front page of my CV, 4."

'How many years experience of SQL Server do you have?"

"As it says on the front page of my CV, 9."

"Oh, I see, youve listed how much experience you have in each of your skills... erm... I dont really have much more to ask...."

Error - Top man. Is there any way of including where the ad was originally posted (e.g. Jobswerve etc)? Some of the ads on JobJock don't include the links to apply via email. Or are you hoping to include this later?

Very much on the cards Mr B.

I need to find a contract/permie job myself before I can invest in the expansion of the site.

Thus far no agent has been able to sell my skills. No surprise there though since most of them do not understand the industry. Their margins on experienced people do not compete with newbie margins and placing me will raise the bar a tad too far I guess.

The site may raise my profile when I market directly to the client and I will be happy to expand the project when I get a result on that front.
