Thanks for all the replies and advice guys. I was a permie for so long that I guess I got used to having regular money and security (until I got made redundant!) and now I'm just getting stressed about finding another contract which will be as good as the one I am doing at the moment. I'll try and relax then until after Xmas and hope for the best.Comment

I thought that when I was looking earlier in the year. Didn't happen for me.Originally posted by rootsnallThe other big plus point of going for immediate start stuff is a lot of managers are suddenly a lot less fussy about your specific experience and its a good way of learning new skills on the the fly.
One job I was an 80% match for, the client had a better match that couldn't start for three months. He waited.

On the surface, yes. But there is a bit more to it than just passing XML Messages left, right and centre. Plus, its another feather in the cap, on top of ASP.NET, not many people do it and it pays more.Originally posted by TazMaNBizTalk is just a noddy XML mapping tool , not a real one, ne c'est pas?
How about you?Comment

EAI generally, have some knowledge of specific skills that I'd rather not mention here (small market, might know someoneOriginally posted by WeltchyOn the surface, yes. Hence why I knew about Biztalk, though haven't ever used it. Once had an interview at Marks & Spencer for EAI architect role, but they were using Biztalk (4 years ago) and I trashed the product in the interview. Wonder why I didn't get the job! I'm sure Biztalk's moved on a bit now though.Comment

Ehhh?, all that put together still won't earn as much as SAP does.Originally posted by WeltchyBizTalk, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005, SSRS, Oracle. Thats my current skillset at the mo.

Edit: "Contractor Among Contractors", when did that happen? One minute you're cruising along as someone not worth listening to, the next minute...Last edited by Joe Black; 18 October 2006, 18:12.Comment

Probably not. But then, thats my skill set. Thats like saying all that plus SAP still doesnt earn as much as a hedge fund manager, or a professional footballer.Originally posted by Joe BlackEhhh?, all that put together still won't earn as much as SAP does.Comment
