Supposing you had spend the three months lounging at home doing nothing. What evidence of that would the investment bank expect to see?

Showing some arbitrary proof of where you were for three months is nonsense.

Agree it is nonsense, unfortunately its a requirement.
There isn't any option to opt out of this, if you want the contract.
The checks go back 5-7 years, so it is actually far worse than just supplying 3 months!!!

A requirement / box checking exercise as part of getting the contract.
I believe they do a criminal records check, also, which would cover your point.

Run with it I guess. It's very silly though.

I cannot think of a single proof that could not be fabricated bar the formal measures (DBS, SC) etc that the government has put in place to address the specific issues that I guess this is supposed to address.

I think it varies, agency to agency, bank to bank.

Personal bank statement.

That would not prove anything especially if like me you have more than one bank account.
