There is no business case to have people travel offsite is there when modern remote tools can do it all & you have more time/energy to do the job in hand. That's exactly the sort of role they should outsource to a cheap import worker via the outsourcers who love flooding the end client with their £100 a day top men
They are looking for people who are willing to do this for 12 months... Maidenhead is on the FGW (GWR now) lines, which means constant delays to/from London. You can do it for maybe a month, but not for a year.

Unrealistic at £450, but this is the market today. Also unrealistic from the point of view of keeping your performance levels up, but who gives **** about that.
Could you pm me the agent's name please.

You can do it for as along as your health or bills will stretch but its very unhealthy on the bodyclock. No amount of money is worth it unless you have no other options & or have immediate bills to pay IME.

And what about not only reducing rates, but ALSO days?

In a recent email I got, the daily rate was not only low but the days per week were 4

Unless your contract prevents you from it, use that time to create a secondary source of income. If they have dibs on you, use that time to learn new stuff.

Most of the calls I am getting are from indian agents for contracts with TCS, Infosys, Wipro to be placed at client sites who are major banks and other blue chip companies at the rate of £250-300. It seems even UK recruitment agencies have been outsourced.

I am getting a few of those too. I'd add HCL to that list.

BTW. It's hilarious when the agent cannot speak English, sends you a job spec that's a generic 4-line copy & paste job, and the guy who interviews you cannot operate the phone, keeps dropping the line, and cannot speak English.

You could also use this time to study IR35 legislation and how negotiating a decent contract and working practices can stop the taxman from bending you over a few years down the line....
Have you tried switching it off and back on again??

                    add to that
calling 6 times a day, each time a different person, asking you to still lower the rates further.

btw they have this concept of "anytime" interview,
no specific time for interview but someone will call for telephone interview either today or tomorrow anytime.
                    I hope they FOAD.

One of those guys was so persistent, yet so unable to explain what he wanted that I asked him to get someone who speaks English on the phone. I think he said "**** you" before he disconnected.
