    Extensions at HSBC (Canary Wharf)?

Whats happening with the re-org there?
My BFF has been offered a verbal extn - he said yes. Current contract expires on 3- July and no paperwork for extn until now !
Resource solutions have been hopeless. No response to emails etc. Boss says she approved the extn - but has no info abt the status.

Anyone here had recent extension at HSBC, please share your thoughts.

    Thanks

They are just very very slow about paperwork. Every piece of paper takes weeks to move through the hierarchy when everything is smooth, and the time can be easily doubled when a problem occurs at any stage. Resource solution has a monopoly there and hence has no incentive at all to speed up.

Don't wait and look for something else. The market is very good out there. It's likely he'll find a new contract before all the paperwork is in order.

That's not unusual at a bank.

The contracts have to be signed by about 5 layers of management.

It may even arrive after he's started his extension.

No point in worrying about it as he could in any case be walked off site with a few moments notice, regardless of whether the extension is signed or not.
          I'm alright Jack

              This.

Banks is getting worse and worse at paperwork.

When starting current gig, I only found out at 6pm the night before my first day which had been agreed 2 weeks before subject to paperwork.

My boss had been given 3 dates, none of which I was aware of or were met. He was surprised when I turned up!

HR and paperwork have wrecked the UK.

Perhaps you should join a team building exercise?

If they where stupid enough to do something like that, let alone film it - they deserved to be sacked.

If they were contractors and stupid enough to attend the team building exercise, on top of that, even more stupid!
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).
