HELP Deciding next course of action......

    Hi All,

Typical isn't it, that you wait for one contract then you get 2 offers in one day, BUT......
    1. Client A - interviewed yesterday, they tick all my boxes in terms of location (easily commutable on a daily basis), duration, learning new skills set which will definitely be a huge bonus on my CV, and day rate is not too bad (not as high as my previous only £40 less), private well established company which is a known UK brand. They are still trying to get someone to sign off, they are trying to get it done today?!?!?
    2. Client B - location would mean I stay away from home, day rate is £100 less, 3 month initial contract, public sector, not a project that excites me, where Client A's project excites me. This is Capita by the way
    3. Client B - had F2F interview with them almost 3 weeks ago, originally sold as 1 stage, now they'd like to do a telephone interview with Director, well established international company, a domain I have experience in, location would mean 2 to 2.5 hours commute one way or stay over, highest daily rate. Have said they'd make decision immediately after telephone call. I've felt messed around by this lot, so I'm tempted to tell them to shove it!

I've chased Client A 30 min ago, they are chasing.....

I'm avoiding Client B (not good), they want an answer.......

I've yet to return Client C call after the Director left me waiting like a lemon last night....call arranged he never called, apparently in Client meetings! (amongst a catalogue of other "red flags")

Have any of them actually made you an offer? If not the you've no decision to make yet. If offer B is waiting for your acceptance then you could accept subject to the results of of a contract check and get them to send it over. Can take 5 days to get it checked so you've bought yourself some breathing space. If something else comes up advise B you reject as the terms of the contract are unacceptable. He won't be happy but you haven't done anything wrong up to this point.

Tell Client B "No". This should remove two options.

Then take the dog for a walk and enjoy the weather awaiting client A.

The advice above is given depending on sizable warchest.

So basically you have no offers?

Keep looking until somone makes you and offer and then decide on that rather than maybes

Never tell them no! Just find some nonsense reason to delay.

Tell them your goldfish died or something.

                    This never happens to me!

Last week had two phone calls for roles, one a good hour (mostly client waffle) and one I totally forgot about, 15 min call, offer for both. Took the first one. First local gig in five years, yippee!!
