    Fishing recruiter

Recruiter from a private no. asks experience, "what do you do", etc. and all the usual blah di blah about "any holidays booked", daily rate. Takes my post code, says a company is hiring next door, why they need a consultant to come on board asap. Then he takes a reference(with no contact details). He sounded all genuine but never drops me an email for any follow-up.

What did he actually fished me for?

I know this is a silly question but given that telephones nowadays can transmit as well as receive, didn't you actually ask him?

I haven't seen one single thing in that even suggests it's genuine. Smells of sockie troll to me this one.

Did you ask him anything at all? Agency, name etc?

Maybe you gave him the wrong email or he wrote it down wrong?

I always take recruiter details just in case!

Okay - 90% of the time it is nonsense. But you don't want to miss a good opportunity...
