Doesn't really surprise me. It's a nice idea, in principle, but (shock, horror) agents do actually offer a useful service to their clients and to contractors, i.e. they are not completely useless.

The same from the contractor's perspective too - easier to bill and expect to be paid by an agency, rather than be sent round the houses and paid 3 months later like you would if you were a TRUE supplier. Having seen the way some old employers ran their Accounts Payable, I'm glad we don't have to put up with all that rubbish.

Thought I go on and have a look.

Looks like you need the email address of someone who pointed you to the site (and presumably they are already registered) OR you need to email them to get an account.

Seems to be trying to be a vetting process of sorts, but really it's just a barrier to entry.

        Ahm oot!

If you mail them, you can mention this site as reference and they will accept you (well at least that's how I got an account)

You really are a crashing bore; it's either "everyone's an agent" or some inaccurate drivel about international taxation. Perhaps stick to general, eh? You're not really cut out for the professional forums.

Essentially, I'm talking about cutting out recruitment agencies. I was looking for something more than the service Monster offers.

Would cutting out recruitment agencies lend weight to a contract being considered outside of IR35? I've read that it might.
Has no one else noticed that this is this person's first and only post? I was half expecting post 2 to say ... look here at this website (link to site), this is the kind of thing I was thinking of With the link to their own site that they are trying to publicise!

Anyway, I like using agents. For me they filter out the cr@p roles that I wouldn't be interested in and only offer up suitable roles. Not all agents are good, but when you find good ones it can work very well

A little bit of self-aggrandizement rather than an answer? We can forgive the insecure.

Please tell us about your preferred agents that filter out the cr@p roles... should they exist.
