My point is they should do the same. i.e. not wait until the week before and then say yes please come in or no thanks.Rhyddid i lofnod psychocandy!!!!Comment

Happened to me for the first time last year but as it was in London and my train line would have been shut anyway, it was a slightly academic point as I would have struggled to get in anyway.
Didn't you think of asking before you signed?Comment

Happening to me this year from 15 Dec. Thinking of using it as an opportunity to look for a new job !Comment

Just happened today.
Been speaking with line manager as late as today and my capability manager for at least 2 weeks about Xmas cover. No problems etc and then an email came out today that people who are being requested to take furlough have been identified and already notified. No problems I thought, I've not been notified.
Get home tonight to check my mails and I got an email this afternoon telling me to take a furlough.

Originally posted by GillsMan View PostYes, but does that come out of their holiday entitlement? I have three staff, and we shut the office for two weeks between Christmas and New Year. That doesn't come out of their 20 days' holiday entitlement, so maybe that's the difference? Can't imagine it's OK to force people to take their holiday on certain days. It's why, when recruiting, I advertise our holiday entitlement as 20 days + Christmas & New Years Off, rather than 27-28 days annual leave.Comment
