Something's vaguely ringing a bell that this can be put through as a business expense.

          Is that right?

Oops - meant to post in accountancy!
Ah, so its wholly and exclusively for the business then?

TBH, why bother with such a piddling amount, is your profit margin [bthat[/b] small?

No, it's not wholly and exclusively for the business. It is, however, specifically mentioned by HMRC as a trivial benefit which does not attract a benefit in kind charge. I don't see how people can get it wrong, to be honest.

Look after the pennies, and the pounds will look after themselves. Why would you give the tax man more than you have to?

My question wasn't whether or not it was worth putting it through, but whether it was allowed.

£6 is better in my pocket than the tax man's.

Is 6 quid really worth it?

Keeping putting through 'trivial' expenses and see how closely the taxman will look at the rest of your accounts if there is any investigation.

                Each to their own though.

HMRC have explicitly said that you can do this. So why would you not do it?

About bloody time I'm sure there was an apology and explanation about how they got it fundamentally wrong in the first place...
