    Working in Oslo?

Had a call from a pimp today about a contract in Oslo. just wondered if anybody in this group has worked in Norway before and how it went. Oh BTW it's working for Wipro for a not very good day rate paid in the local currency NOK.

If it's lower than 6/700 a day Sterling equiv. don't bother.....

Norway is a great place but horrendously expensive. More so than almost anywhere else in Europe. Standard of living is very high but it costs a fortune to live there. If the rate is below par you will struggle to make ends meet.

        Many thanks

Peeps, yes its well below the rates mentioned so I think I'll pass. Well when they said it was for Wipro alarm bells rang so it's the usual story, CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP

        Thank you guys,
        Martin.

The last dealings that I had with Wipro was less than appealing. Waste of agents time, waste of my time and the ultimate interviewer was a w*nker of the highest order.
I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).

Me too, had a Unix man page type interview with 10 Bob's on a conf call all for a shiite rate in Stockholm.

Was all 'Sorry, can you say that again?' and 'Needful and much cheapness what..?'

            That was HCL for Zeneca...

Oslo (and Norway) is a great place
But a low rate in one of the world's most expensive countries and the fact that it is with Wipro are very good reasons to walk away

I agree with whats been said already.. Norway - Great place to live.. But to enable you to compare, the minimum hourly for anybody over 18 years is around £15, nearly 3 times that of UK.. You can easily make 40k doing a "low paid" job in Norway.. So pitch your rate accordingly.
