Only BBC channels I watch are 2 and 4. Anything on 1 seems to be drivel. Even most of the 9pm dramas on 1 seem to be soapy. If a drama moves from 2 to 1 then it usually goes downhill.

Used to listen to Today on R4 every day, but now much prefer Ch4 news.

I don't detect any bias in BBC output, it's just that it's mostly shyte.
