One thing he (read: Cummings) understands is that there's no point placating the irreconcilable remoaners and in the process pissing off most leavers. There's no middle ground any more; that time has passed. Time to rub some faces in the dirt, I'm afraid. Or at least try. That said, it ain't happening without a GE interposed between face and dirt. Until it all goes spectacularly wrong, we can at least enjoy all the right people losing their ****.Comment

He won’t be taking us into No Deal Brexit. The ramifications of the immediate shock would be disastrous for his ego and ambitions. Therefore, GE before Oct.
Not a competent Cabinet for the long term, but for short term support to suck up the Brexit Party vote and neuter or do a deal with them. Head for a General Election in Autumn, banking on the EU to extend on the basis that a GE has been called. Enough Remain MPs to be deselected by their local Associations through the activism of the infiltrators from UKIP/BXP and replaced with Brexit supporters to continue that neutralisation, and any opposition parties continue to not cooperate with each other and split the opposition vote.
Whether Brexit then goes ahead is largely immaterial - Johnson gets what he wants, a 5 year mandate in power. Cummings and Gove get what they want (to dismantle the civil service and rebuild it as they see fit) and the rest of the Cabinet can be hung out to dry by Johnson for failing to deliver Brexit - or replaced with anyone competent who can deliver it without impacting Johnson’s premiership (either one suits Johnson)Comment
