Yup, eventually.Originally posted by JohntheBike View PostI guess all of which could eventually be made in the UK in future after Brexit.
All we need is to overhaul the education system so that we produce people capable of designing and making the products
Then we need to create a manufacturing industry that isn't sold off to financiers who want to make sure they get all the profit out with scant regard for reinvesting.
So, that's maybe 25-30 years.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

agreed, then at that point we would be much more able to compare our lot with those in the EU.Originally posted by WTFH View PostYup, eventually.

quality might have been lower pre-EU days, but they were certainly cheaper, as was almost everything else that was made in the UK at that time when compared to the EU. Note that Dacia cars are not very good, but they sell like hot cakes because they are inexpensive.Originally posted by CryingSheep View PostSure, at a lower quality and higher cost...Comment

But we are not in the pre-EU times anymore... The investment to, all of a sudden, create an entire industry to build those components would be enormous!Originally posted by JohntheBike View Postquality might have been lower pre-EU days, but they were certainly cheaper, as was almost everything else that was made in the UK at that time when compared to the EU.
