Customers are prohibited from drinking or carrying open containers of alcohol on the London Underground, buses, Docklands Light Railway, tram services and London Overground.

      Hth.

In the heat of rail carriages jelly will become liquid and therefore would be drunk.

            Why would it be?

Nothing in the rules states that the alcohol has to be in liquid form, merely that its container be open.

Keep it in a cool bag. The open container rule is problematic but there should be a solution.

No the rule is stupid - the usual standard passive aggressive ban which does more harm than good.

Police should have the ability to confiscate alcohol and arrest people who are under the influence of alcohol and are causing a disturbance or danger to the public.

As it is only really at that point that a crime is being committed - drinking a bevvie on the train is not a crime

and on the train from Glasgow to London it is expected.

Yeah, too right. Once we leave the bloody EU we can reverse this stupid law. It's right isn't it that we can't make any of our own rules at the moment and that the EU dictates what we can and can't do?
