We got a new MD last year - he had a vision we were going to increase sales by 50%
We didn't
He is no longer here.
It's only a shame no one in the EU is held accountable.

Now, you obviously don't wish to be part of the solution so why not go and find yourself a nice safe little bolthole?Old Greg - In search of acceptance since Mar 2007. Hoping each leap will be his last.Comment

Re your statement on the MD and the vision statement ..... I'd be very surprised if the vision statement included something like "increase sales by 50%", and it certainly wouldn't be the aim to achieve this in 12 months. Either you're talking tosh, or the MD was removed for a completely different reason. Vision statements are by their very nature long term views and may say something like "Be the number 1 company in this market" etc - I remember when I worked for Turner Broadcasting, their vision was to beat Disney (internally there was a cartoon or Mickey being shot that had been mocked up - it wasn't an official company picture but it did nicely sum up the vision of Turner)
Anyway, I digress .... as you don't seem to understand what a vision statement should look like, try this doc https://www.executestrategy.net/wp-c...statements.pdfI am what I drink, and I'm a bitter manComment

Ok right so a few things to clear up
Vision Statements are bollocks - they are made up by junior exec's to try and impress senior exec with their ability to 'live and breathe' the company. Any under junior exec does not think these things are worth wiping their arse on.
Understand that the vast majority of people go to work to earn money not to part of some jumped up prick's vision (which will only be for 2 years until they fook off somewhere else)
Also understand that most people do not have 'brand loyalty' nor do they buy into your vision statement.
Most people will use a company to purchase a certain thing at a certain time - that is the beginning and the end of the relationship.
I know there are people who love Apple and have completely bought into that brand but the reality is they are simple somewhat delusional about the impact it is having on their lives

In reality a vision statement is just a collection of words designed to make someone appear clever and involved when in reality they are simply empty words and hot air which account for nothing.Comment
