OK, let me make it more simple for you ... there is evidence all over the internet of those who voted out saying it was because of immigration. News reports, interviewing leave voters has those voters talking about immigration being out of control and we are going to take back control of our borders.

It was the linchpin of the leave campaign; if we vote out, we can take back control of our borders and reduce immigration. This will increase average wages. We will have jobs for 'our own' (ironically unemployment is low so who is going to do the jobs is a mystery).

Also ironic, none EU immigration is higher than EU immigration; it was before the ref, it still is now. We could always control this immigration so there was nothing to 'take back' control of.

But yeah, you keep telling yourself that you voted out for other reasons.

Be interesting to know if any/many of the leave voters on here admit to voting out to their work colleagues or clients. You'll all say you're not ashamed by voting out, but how many of you really admit it in polite society?

Hmm I imagine because that makes better TV than rational people - who generally do not want to talk about their political choices on tv - telling the papers the long and boring reasons for them making their choice.

So much easier just to say its because of immigration and therefore all brexiteers are racist.

So is it acceptable that if an unsubstantiated claim is made, that someone can ask for evidence and expect to have it provided?

And if no evidence is forthcoming, but there is strong evidence (e.g. multiple sources or legal/government documents) to the contrary, that perhaps the claim was false?
