He ought to vote in line with the Manifesto on which he stood as the said candidate for North East Somerset in the GE of 2017. As should Anna Soubry, and all the other Tory & Labour MPs who are preparing to vote against all forms of Brexit.
Don't these MPs even read their Manifestos? Don't bother to answer that, we all know the answer...

          +1
Excellent point. And why not involve expert negotiators from the real world as well? This is far too great an issue to leave to some civil servants who've never had to do any of this for real.

Without looking it up, name one other pledge in either party’s manifesto.

Was the Tory manifesto pro or anti May's deal?

May's deal didn't exist at that point. The Tory (and Labour) manifesto promised to implement the result of the referendum. Or to put it another way, both major parties stood on a platform of delivering an exit (albeit in different form) from the EU.

My (Labour) MP was elected in 2015 with a very slim majority. She voted against triggering A50, and in 2015 made it very clear that she would campaign against Brexit, despite what it said in the manifesto.

She was re-elected with a massively increased majority.

Nobody cares what is in the manifesto, and I’m fairly certain that you don’t care about any other promises that might be in the manifesto, it just suits you to focus on this one.

So she thinks her job is to reject the vote of the general populace then is it?

                      Special.
