    39 Billion.

A thousand quid for each UK tax payer? Police budget for 3 years?

I've got a novel idea, we offer it to Ireland in a lump sum, would pay off 30% of their national debt in one go.

We could leave the 39 billion in gold ingots under some location in the south coast. A series of puzzling question leads to its location, Merkel and Varadkar in yellow and pink jumpsuits.

"How many triggers did the Stasi give to the IRA?"

              Merkel:

              "I know this von"

              Varadkar:

              "I think these colours clash."

But what about the £55bn in lost tax revenue every year?

Seriously, we could offer them the money.

Why has this not been countenanced before.
