It did reduce and then got rid off roaming charges on telecoms an data.

If the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2019 as planned, with a withdrawal agreement in place, any changes won't happen immediately. All EU rules and regulations, including on mobile roaming anywhere in the EU, will continue to apply until the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020.

No but the suppliers are keeping the free roaming so EE, 3, Vodafone etc are saying that your can use your UK allowances when abroad - be that in an EU country or beyond.

That was the point I was trying to make it is not just within the EU that free roaming applies so why would leaving the Eu affect it?

And then we get the discussion about how if it deters tourists from going to EU countries then it will be detrimental to said EU countries.

That is a known unknown at this point.

If May's deal is accepted then at the end of 2020 either the transition period will be extended or a new trade agreement will be in place, which one would hope covers things important to tourists that make a significant part of UK to EU income seeing as movement of people is tied closely to trade by the EU.

No we do not hold all the cards - but we do have some!

Who said you'll still get free roaming? the UK mobile companies did but that's them just saying that. Now when you're on the continent and have roaming turned on you'll be using the network that your phone connects to, this company will then pass the bill onto your provider so what is there to stop them charging your provider whatever they want? I doubt very much that all UK communications providers have signed deals with all EU providers
