    When tomorrow is not tomorrow...

“One point Leadsom continues to make at the dispatch box – and which bears some explanation – is that the parliamentary procedure by which the Brexit debate will be deferred involves a government minister calling out “tomorrow” when asked when it should start.

In parliamentary procedure, she tells MPs, that does not literally mean tomorrow. It means: ‘At some point in the future’.”

“Downing Street said it would pull the vote formally at around 8pm tonight, when the Commons clerks call out the business to be debated. A government whip simply has to shout “tomorrow” for the business to be deferred indefinitely; No 10 said the procedure was a standard one used all the time.“

So why can’t they say to the esteemed Brexit voters that Brexit will happen tomorrow?
