In my circle of friends there are three Brexiteers. The are certainly not cretins.
Two are noticeably carefree about challenges and very inclined to think they can sort things out in life as they come across them rather than carefully evaluating things up front.
The third is more of a critical thinker but lost a lot of money betting on some high risk petrochemical company. His father had big gambling debts when he died. So he may have a predisposition to being reckless.
None of them have been deflected about all the revelations about the short term damage Brexit will occur, or about the total lack of any examples of possible long term gains.
You think they are cretins because the don't get what you say even though you think your points are indisputable. But the problem is they don't care about what you are saying. Their support is not based on the kind of analysis you seem to think is necessary.

Switched-on people. For that is exactly what will happen.
Sure it will not be instantaneous, nor will the path to the future be trouble free, but the country will get there in the end.
A great many Brexiteers voted simply for a change in direction, and to break free from the more centralised federal approach of the EU.
That is what we will end up with in some shape or form. That will be good enough for me and for the majority of Leave voters. Not too hung up on the timescales really.
If Remainers imagine that anyone can put exact figures upon all of these changes then they are breathtakingly out of touch with the reality of what is coming down the line.
