This is more about Japan trying to leverage its weight to get the UK to stay in the single market.
What it doesn't sound like is opening up Japan to Japanese companies operating in Britain so that Japanese companies already in Japan can export to Japan from the UK.Japan wants to hold early free trade talks with Britain, in a sign of growing concern among the country’s businesses over post-Brexit access to the European market.
Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, is hoping to soften the blow that Britain’s expected withdrawal from the single market could inflict on Japanese companies by starting informal talks on free trade before Britain leaves the EU, the Nikkei business newspaper said, citing unnamed sources.Last edited by BlasterBates; 26 June 2017, 15:23.I'm alright Jack -

Interesting that Japan sees Britain staying in the Single Market as more desirable than having a trade deal with the UK.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment
