All this stuff (Supreme Court, parliamentary process) is a waste of time.
It's basically happening because everyone with half a brain knows that hard Brexit will be a fooking disaster.
If that wasn't the case, of course we'd all be quite pleased to leave the EU tomorrow
But in my opinion, hard Brexit would be beneficial, in the sense that it would strip away the economic illusions which seem to be prevalent, permanently.
And lead to a faster re-entry (of some kind) into a relationship with the EU.
          Hard Brexit now!

No, I'm afraid they can't. In extremis, Parliament can abolish the SC.

Telling the Government it needs an Act is a foregone. What the SC doesn't have the right to do is state it has to be a full blown blah blah blah when a one liner will suffice. That would put it in direct opposition to the Government and the Government would be within its rights to ignore it.

Judges also come and go, being replaced with less Liberal ones.

Before the middle of January? Also, remember that, pre SC, this was adjudicated by the Law Lords
